The large amount of sun light in our country led us to a project focusing on light adjustment. We were looking for both cultural and functional inspiration sources. As the cultural source we have chosen the mashrabiya from the Arab architecture, while the Israeli's weather oriented sun blinds gave the main functional inspiration. 
Our goal was to combine the aesthetics of the mashrabiya with the functionality of our nation's sun blinds.
The result is a mechanism build from several strips, with asymmetrical ribs. 
The closing, or opening, of the sun blinds is performs by applying force to one of the strips.
We implemented this concept to design a prototype for  a sun blinding, a folding screen and a wall cover.
